Second generation owners, Matt and Nathan Hart, saw the Ocean Blaster for the first time at the Fabtech Show in Chicago a few years ago and fell in love. They knew that once they had finished building their new facility, an Ocean Blaster would immediately find a home in their shop.

Fast forward to present day: Matt and Nathan have completed construction on their new facility, the Ocean Blaster has been installed, and it is already exceeding their expectations.

As you can see from the images, their shop is super clean, and Matt attributes a lot of that to the Ocean Blaster cleaning the steel before any of his guys even touch it.

The team at Baxter fabricated their own cross-feed supports on both the in and out-feed sides of the Blaster. These supports create a good buffer zone on either end to reduce crane time. They also installed a jib crane on either end so they don’t tie up the overhead.

We love our ingenious and creative customers, and we learn from them every day!

Steel may be strong but it has downsides as well, steel oxidizes very quickly when exposed to the elements, and if left out in your yard long enough it can grow some serious rust. It doesn’t matter if that steel is headed for a drill line, angle line, band saw or plasma machine that rust and scale is gonna be an issue.

CNC machines rely on laser sensors to set the zero reference for profiles to be run. Rust and scale buildup can cause the laser to miscalculate the starting position and/or distance of the profile. This costly miscalculation can result in holes, slots, and cuts being off enough to render the profile unusable.

Typical rusty beam goes in…

With this in mind, MBM Fabricators in Romulus, Michigan sought out a pre-processing solution that would work with their current flow of band saw cutting profiles to length followed by a single spindle drill line. They also had to take into consideration the overhead cranes that run the length of their shop which would eliminate anything of considerable size taking up space in the shop.

Because of the Ocean Blaster’s compact footprint, MBM Fabricators was able to utilize the “dead space” against the wall of the shop, underneath the overhead crane. They are now running all their material through the Ocean Blaster before processing & painting, and recently commented “The Ocean Shot Blaster has exceeded our expectations”.

…Nice clean beam comes out!

Ocean is proud to announce their newest addition to their formidable product range of top quality, affordable machines that help fabricators to reduce their fabrication costs and increase their operating margins.

The New Ocean Blaster is a completely new Shot Blast machine, designed for ALL fabricators, even the small shops! The Ocean Blaster will clean all steel profiles up to 40″ tall and 20″ wide.

The Ocean Blaster has the smallest footprint and lowest overall height of any comparable shot machine. This allows it to fit into the smallest of shops. It is also the most economical machine to operate, due to the ULTRA Performance turbines that allow it to clean to a “near white” surface finish at faster than 5 ft per minute all at less than 50% of the power consumption of any competitive product.

Ocean wants you to be the lowest cost producer in your market. That is how you will win jobs, make money and stay in business. The Ocean Blaster will make a huge improvement to the profitability of your shop.

Watch the Ocean Blaster video below
