Can your Beam Line do this? – Drilling Pre-Welded Assemblies

Take a look at one of our Avenger Plus customer drilling into this pre-welded set.

In manufacturing, situations occur that require pre-welding and then drilling of assemblies. The concern that the holes are welded sooner or later is usually due to one or more reasons:

  1. Shrinkage and distortion of the material as the weld cools could compromise the position of the holes.
  2. The actual weld of previously drilled components may not be perfectly aligned, thus compromising the precision of the holes.

The Avenger Plus and Avenger machines, by virtue of the static workpiece and mobile processing column, allow fabricators to place and drill pre-welded structures on their machines.

This is not something that can even be considered in a robot or multi-spindle drilling line.
