With its versatile Morse Taper system and lightweight, powerful design, the Hougen HMD2MT Portable Magnetic Drill offers superior drilling capabilities for all-around metal fabrication. This compact yet efficient tool can produce holes up to 1-5/8” in diameter and 2” deep with an array of accessories available including twist drills for blind or smaller holes; a tapping adapter for making tapped mounting holes; reamers for cleaning out or enlarging existing hole sizes; chuck adapters that facilitate drill chucks, as well as countersinking capability — empowering you to be more productive than ever before.

The orignal mag drill annular cutter from which all others are measured. “12,000-Series” Cutters for Hougen’s line of Portable Magnetic Drills are available in M2 H.S.S., TiN coated M2 H.S.S. and Modified “12,000-Series” TiN coated Premium M42 H.S.S. in sizes 7/16″ thru 2-3/8″ (12mm – 60mm) diameters and 1 to 6″ (25mm – 152mm) depth of cut.

TiN Coated cutters increase tool life, reduce friction, and operate at cooler temperatures. For materials up to 325 BHN or gummy materials. Special Sizes and coatings are available on request.

Hougen Modified TiN Coated Premium Cobalt Annular Cutters

A M42 premium tool for harder materials when improved wear resistance is critical. TiN Coated Premium H.S.S. tools are ideal for use with materials up to 350 BHN, such as T1 alloy plate and armor plating. Higher hardness than M2 but with less impact resistance. Other coatings available upon request.

Copperhead™ Carbide Cutters now feature two shanks styles, the new Fusion™ shank for tool-less arbors and the standard two flat shank. Copperhead™ Cutters are design for extended tool life in abrasive and tough-to-cut materials. They are available in 2″ (50mm), 3″ (76mm), 4″ (102mm) depth of cut in sizes from 9/16″ to 2″ (14mm – 60mm).
